After Graduation from RMC Duntroon, Bill completed Regimental Officer training at the School of Military Engineering, Casula NSW. He served in Borneo and then South Vietnam; and then moved on to 3 periods of Unit Command. He served in a number of Staff postings. Bill left the ARA in 1980, and served with the Institution of Engineers, Australia, as Manager Queensland Branch. Subsequently, from the late 1980s on, Bill was involved in World Expo 88, as well as trade and investment activities in China, USA, NZ and the Gulf. He held positions in regional development, management skilling and tourism and liaison with a range of State Governments. In the latter stages of his career, Bill worked for the Queensland Government in legislative policy reform.
HADLEY, William Robert (Bill), Major Royal Australian Engineers (Retired). Born on 11th July, 1942. Passed away peacefully on 7th July 2016. Sadly missed and greatly cherished by loving daughters Megan and Bree. Father-in-Law to Andrew. Loving Gramps of Kayla, Amelia and Isaac. Always in our thoughts, Forever in our hearts.
